You just need to hang it on the wall, which is located in the southern or eastern part of the room. An equally interesting alternative to a money tree can be a painting-amulet depicting a horseshoe, which can be decorated with coins. More on everything in order further in the text.

Painting-amulet “Money Horseshoe” 2018 step by step

Our ancestors believed that if you find a horseshoe, it will be a great success.

Important! According to popular beliefs, one blacksmith shoed an unclean man and made a deal with him that if the horseshoe hangs with its horns down, then he will not enter the house. Therefore, a do-it-yourself picture of coins is a strong protective amulet that should be in every home, preferably above the door.

We offer MK how to make a painting with a picture of a horseshoe, so that there will always be prosperity and good luck in your home.

Materials and tools

For work we will prepare the following materials and tools:

  • The base is rectangular (size 250 by 200 mm - depends on how you want your creation to look).

Important! For the base, you can take cardboard, plywood or a ready-made photo frame.

  • Burlap, which exceeds the size of the base by 10-20 mm on each side (270 by 220 mm).
  • Curly shaped wooden glazing beads.

Important! Glazing beads can be replaced with a thin ceiling cornice.

  • Thick white thread or jute twine.
  • Furniture stapler.
  • Acrylic paint in black and bronze colors.

Important! To make a painting, you can use any acrylic paint - in a tube or can. It can be glossy or matte - it all depends on your preferences.

  • Glue gun with transparent sticks.
  • PVA glue.
  • Sponge.
  • Marker
  • A small brush.
  • Scissors.

Important! To make the amulet, only natural materials are used, each of which carries a specific semantic designation. For example:

  • burlap represents prosperity and abundance;
  • tree - integrity and strength of the family.

Therefore, try to use natural materials that will direct the energy of the picture in the right direction.

Stages of creating the painting “Money Horseshoe”:

  • First you need to prepare the foundation. We cover the rectangular blank with burlap, which we secure with a stapler or glue gun.
  • We install the glazing beads by first measuring and cutting at an angle of 45°. For fastening we use glue, a stapler or small nails.
  • Now we make the crown of our tree. Take a thick white thread or jute twine and soak it in PVA glue to form a dense base for the horseshoe.
  • On a rectangular blank we draw the selected image with a pencil - for this you do not need to have artistic talent.

Important! You can draw a horseshoe on a piece of paper, cut it out, and then trace it on a wooden base.

  • Next, lay out the thread in any shape, starting to glue it onto the outline of the image. Here you can experiment, for example, lay a continuous thread over the entire pattern, glue it with a zigzag or twist it into a ring. The end result should be a horseshoe made of tightly lying white threads.
  • We glue a short horizontal thread to the bottom of the horseshoe to create a full-fledged pattern.
  • We are waiting for the base to dry completely.
  • Using a glue gun, we glue coins all over the horseshoe, leaving gaps, imitating a real horseshoe.
  • Leave the painting for a day to dry.
  • Apply black paint to the surface of the entire painting. It is better to spray in the fresh air, in the entrance or garage, but not in the apartment. Let the paint dry thoroughly again.
  • Now we take the bronze paint on a sponge and apply it with light movements on top of the canvas.

That's all the work. The painting-amulet “Horseshoe” is ready to decorate your home!

DIY coin paintings - master class “Money Tree”

An original panel with a picture of a money tree can be bought in a shop of skilled craftswomen, or you can create such a masterpiece on your own. Why not? The manufacturing process itself is very interesting and exciting. If you understand the whole system of work, you will be able to easily make interesting pictures both for yourself and for people close to you.

So, we prepare the following materials for work:

  1. Wallpaper, burlap or fabric.
  2. Coins.
  3. Table napkins (3-5 pieces).
  4. Water.
  5. Acrylic paints (black, gold and silver).
  6. Foam sponge.
  7. A simple pencil.
  8. Scissors.
  9. Loose glitter (can be bought at a cosmetic store).
  10. Frame for a picture or photograph.
  11. PVA glue (you can use Moment glue or a heat gun).
  12. A rag to remove excess glue.

Step-by-step instructions for creating the “Money Tree” panel:

  • We cut out the base for the future painting. To do this, you need to disassemble the photo frame and place the back part of the plywood on the wallpaper (fabric or burlap), trace it with a pencil and cut out the material.
  • Using glue, glue the blank to the back of the plywood.
  • When the wallpaper is dry, draw a sample of wood on top of the base.
  • In a plate, dilute PVA glue and water in equal proportions 1:1.
  • We cut the napkins into different pieces, the width of which should be 2-3 cm.
  • Now take one strip of napkins at a time and carefully dip it into a container with a sticky liquid, trying not to wet it too much, as the napkin may get damaged.
  • We roll the napkins with our palms into tubes, maintaining an angle of 45°.

Important! Try to roll the strips more tightly so that there are no gaps. Different widths of the tubes are needed later to form the tree trunk - for the crown and for the branches.

  • Let the tubes dry.
  • Apply PVA glue to the drawn wood sample.
  • Now it’s time to lay out the finished flagella from napkins and give a beautiful bend to the tree, forming a crown, branches and roots.
  • Using a glue gun or quick-drying glue, we glue our coins in a chaotic manner. You can glue coins overlapping each other to create a three-dimensional image.

Important! Before gluing coins, they need to be degreased with alcohol or regular dishwashing detergent.

  • Using black paint in a can, we thoroughly paint the entire surface of the painting. Give it time to dry.
  • Now we dip the sponge in silver acrylic paint and cover the money tree again. The result should be a scuffed effect, so do not press too hard on the sponge with your hand. Let the paint dry again.
  • Shade the gold acrylic paint over the coins without touching the background of the picture.
  • While the last layer of paint has not dried, apply dry glitter to the surface of all gold coins.
  • Leave the product until completely dry.

Canvas “Money tree is ready.” Now you can insert it into a frame and enjoy the work of your own idea!

  1. The root of the tree can be made more interesting, for example, colored. To do this, you need to dilute colored paint, glue and water in a container.
  2. Coins can be painted green, imitating the foliage of a tree - dip a sponge in green paint and walk along the crown.
  3. In the same way, you can paint the trunk in its inherent brown color.
  4. If desired, you can cover the coins with white paint, creating a snowy effect, giving the picture tenderness and special lightness.

What else can be made from coins?

A DIY painting of trees is not the only way to use coins.

Options for using metal money in creativity:

  • We scatter the coins onto the plywood, insert it into the frame and cover it with glass on top - we get an unusual and stylish panel.

Important! You can depict absolutely any drawings: a goldfish, an elephant or a portrait of a person.

Making a money topiary with your own hands is not at all difficult; the main thing is to understand the principle of making this art object, which is popular today among needlewomen and lovers of unusual room decoration. And if you know about options for replacing parts of the craft and various ways to decorate the pot and crown, then you can even create your own unique tree of happiness, unlike anyone else’s.

Why from money?

Topiary or the tree of happiness in the form that will be discussed further has existed in Europe for many decades. Craftswomen from Russia and the CIS countries relatively recently began to master the art of making topiaries, but have already succeeded quite greatly in this.

Money topiaries, popular today as a decorative element in an ordinary apartment

Initially, topiary is the art of landscape design, which consists of cutting the crowns of trees and bushes in a special way (not only in the form of geometric shapes, but also in the form of animals, birds, etc.), and a topiary is a topiary master. Over time, there was a confusion of terminology, and today topiary is an artificial tree with a round crown, which is not related to any real plant and is only a figment of the imagination of designers and needlewomen.

Topiary is a small artificial tree “planted” in a pot with an unusual spherical crown. There are no more strict rules and regulations regarding making a tree of happiness and there cannot be any more. This, of course, plays into the hands of creative people, because the scope for imagination opens up extraordinary!

So, topiary today is made from paper and feathers, coffee and fabrics, flowers and sweets! It is made according to the style of the room or designer’s find, in honor of a personal or family celebration.

Topiary made from banknotes is one of the most unusual embodiments of the tree of happiness, which has been rapidly gaining momentum lately.

Money topiary

Why make topiary out of money and how much can it cost?

You won’t believe it, but a topiary whose crown consists of banknotes will cost you no more than a craft made from artificial flowers or coffee. The fact is that no one ever makes money topiary from real paper bills; coins can be real, but this is not at all necessary.

Of course, one could be puzzled and make a tree from ten or fifty ruble banknotes so that the craft would be relatively inexpensive, but the fact is that such a topiary will look cheap or undignified. A tree made from banknotes of 100 dollars, 50 euros or 5 thousand rubles looks much more interesting, “more expensive” and more presentable!

Why make such a tree of happiness? Tasks and goals can be very different:

  • Money topiary is an unusual interior decoration that will add zest to your home.

If you strive to create an unusual interior, unlike anyone else’s and reflecting your individuality, then such an art object is what you need.

  • A tree of happiness made from banknotes is an original gift for a birthday, anniversary or other holiday, and not necessarily a joke gift, because a couple of real, impressive ones can be attached to a crown of counterfeit money.
  • Money topiary can also be used to attract capital into your life, if you do it with a certain mood and a desire to get rich in the future.

One way or another, no matter what goal you pursue, topiary made from banknotes will delight you with its simplicity of execution and an unusual and very beautiful result of the work.

Step-by-step master class

In order to make a money topiary with your own hands at home you will need:

  • gypsum and water for diluting it
  • polyurethane foam
  • flowerpot
  • car spray paint
  • joke bank banknotes
  • tree branch
  • glue gun
  • scissors
  • toothpicks
  • sesal
  • decorative ribbon (organza, satin), wrapping paper and other materials of your choice for decoration

The sequence of actions when making a money topiary is as follows:

Preparatory stage: securing parts of the future topiary

  • Form a ball of polyurethane foam and place it on the branch before the foam has time to dry.
  • Dilute the plaster with water to obtain the consistency of thick sour cream. Pour the resulting mixture into the pot to the edge, insert a branch into the pot and hold until the mixture hardens.
  • When the plaster is completely dry, carefully paint the entire structure in the color of your choice and wait until it is completely dry before continuing to work.

The process of making “leaflets” from banknotes

  • Make “leaves” of banknotes: put each one in a bag (for this you may need to first fold the bill in half), fill the sharp end with glue and insert a toothpick into it, as shown in the photo. The number of leaves will depend on the size of your tree's crown.
  • Cut out squares measuring 10 by 10 cm from felt, bend them in half and also glue a toothpick in the middle (see photo). This will be a decorative element of the future topiary.

Decoration of the crown of the money topiary

  • Begin to form the crown of the topiary by sticking the banknote leaves into the foam ball. The main part of the crown should be banknotes, and felt leaves can occasionally be found in the upper part among banknotes and completely form the lower part of the topiary.
  • Distribute the rest of the decor, in this case sesal, over the crown of the topiary.

Decorating a money topiary pot

  • Decorate the topiary pot with the remains of the sesal, securely gluing it to the plaster with a glue gun.
  • Roll up a real bill, if you plan to give real money, carefully tie it with a ribbon and place it near the trunk of the topiary.

Ready tree of happiness

Manufacturing options for individual parts

Making a tree of happiness in general and a money topiary in particular is a process that cannot be regulated by any strict laws and framework from beginning to end. Everyone is free to work in any sequence and use any available materials, based on financial and other realities and possibilities. Let us give several examples of the use of improvised materials for individual components of topiary.

The ball, which is the basis of the topiary crown,can be made not only from polyurethane foam, but also from:

  • foam spherical blank, purchased at any hardware and craft materials store;
  • a homemade ball from newspaper, PVA glue and twine (to do this, just roll up a tight ball from newspapers, wrap it with rope and carefully glue it so that it does not open in the future);
  • from a floral sponge, which is sold in any flower shop;
  • made from a soft children's foam ball.

As a basis for the topiary crown, you can use, among other things, a children's foam ball.

For the topiary trunkNot only a natural tree branch is also suitable, but also other materials and solutions:

  • skewers placed together and wrapped in rope;
  • a plastic stick from a flower shop;
  • wooden base from a brush or other similar object;
  • sushi sticks;
  • a homemade stick, for example, from a wire frame and foil or plaster, if you want the shape of the trunk to be unusually curved or of different thicknesses in different areas.

As topiary pot The following options are suitable:

  • an ordinary inexpensive flowerpot from the nearest garden store;
  • a beautiful coffee cup or mug;
  • plastic cup;
  • any compact box.

In order to secure the topiary trunk in a pot, you can use not only plaster, but also sand and/or pebbles.

Decorative pebbles and pebbles can be used not only for decoration, but also to secure the topiary trunk in a pot

Composition design options

When making a money topiary with your own hands, you are not limited not only in materials, but also in the design of the finished composition.

  • Banknotes can be folded not only into a bag, but also into an accordion, an airplane, a fan, a tube, etc.

You can fold a banknote for topiary in any way you like

  • The crown can be decorated not only with paper money, but also with a combination of bills and coins, both in the crown of the tree of happiness and on the trunk or in a pot.

Money topiary can combine paper bills and real coins

  • There is also an option when the money topiary is made entirely of coins, and this is certainly a stunning sight.

A money topiary made entirely of coins is a very, very impressive sight.

  • The color scheme of the money topiary can be dictated by both the decorative material you have on hand (sesal, felt, etc.) and the color of the banknotes.

Sometimes the color scheme of topiary is suggested by the color of the banknotes themselves

  • A ready-made artificial tree can serve as the basis for a money topiary, and the combination of paper bills and natural foliage color will make your tree of happiness even more unusual.

Money topiary, the basis of which is an artificial tree, can combine “natural” leaves and leaves from banknotes

  • And, of course, there are an endless variety of design options for flowerpots: from the simplest and minimalist to those filled with all sorts of interesting details (figurines, ladders, beads, grass, bags, wallets, etc.). The materials can also be very different: paper, various kinds of fabrics, ribbons, etc.

In the design of money topiaries, burlap and twine are often used both for the design of small details and as the main decor for flowerpots

So, making a money topiary with your own hands is not a difficult task, but it is fascinating, and the result will be an unusual art object that will decorate any home or office.

Video master class: another simple way to make topiary from banknotes

The money theme in home decor has long been common among creative people. Money is used to make various decorations for the room. They make topiaries, panels and other interesting products. Money trees are very popular among needlewomen. You can make a money tree out of coins with your own hands from inexpensive materials that you have at home.

Topiary made of coins

Most often, such trees are made from small coins, but coins of larger denominations are also found. DIY crafts from 10 kopeck coins are not that difficult to make. Any needlewoman can make such a tree, but you need to know the sequence of work.

For manufacturing you will need the following tools and materials:

  • foam ball;
  • leg-split;
  • stick or rod for the trunk;
  • coins.

You should start with making the barrel. It should be tied with twine. You need to make a hole in the foam ball. Insert the prepared trunk there, but do not glue it. This procedure needs to be done to make it easier to put the finished upper part on it later.

At the top of the topiary you need to glue the first coin. Subsequent ones must be glued in a circle. Around the central coin, four more should be glued on different sides. The main requirement for this process is that all the coins were the same. The next row is glued between the previous coins. The entire surface of the foam ball is gradually filled. When this work is completed, you need to put the ball on the leg. The hole must be filled with hot glue and the barrel must be glued to the ball.

Next you need to secure the entire structure in the pot. To do this, you need to dilute alabaster and pour it into a pot. The barrel is installed in the center. A prerequisite must be an even position of the trunk. Otherwise, the weight of the topiary on the surface will be incorrectly distributed. The entire product will be unstable. All that remains is to glue the additional decor and you can consider the work of creating a topiary from coins completed.

In order to diversify the options for such a product, you can use coffee. Coffee beans are glued on the surface of the ball, and coins are glued only on one side. There is a lock around them, which is also glued to the base.

This topiary looks very unusual.

Other examples of work

In addition to topiary, you can make other, quite interesting products. These include panels and various interior decor. You can depict anything on a panel. It could be a tree whose crown consists of coins. Or an image of a Goldfish consisting of pennies.

To make penny wood for the wall you will need the following materials:

  • base for panels;
  • putty or glue;
  • clay for creativity or twine;
  • coins;
  • PVA glue and hot melt glue;
  • acrylic paint and varnish;
  • palette knife;
  • sponge.

You can use fiberboard or chipboard as a base. If the coins will stick, then thick cardboard will do. In the case of putty, cardboard cannot be used. It becomes deformed from exposure to moisture.

The base must be covered with soft paper. White toilet paper or paper towels are suitable for this. You need to take a piece of paper and place it on the base using PVA glue. This is done to create a textured surface. If such a surface is not needed, then the base can be left flat.

Shaping the trunk

The trunk can be made in three ways. It is made from twine, paper or clay. In the case of twine, it is necessary to glue pieces of this material with glue. The more pieces are glued, the thicker the trunk will be. You need to shape it to your taste. Add bends and various branches as your imagination dictates.

If you use paper for this, the trunk is formed from thin strands. In order to make them, you need to twist a piece of paper with your fingers. When a large number of such bundles have been made, you can begin gluing. They only need to be attached with PVA glue. It is necessary that the paper is completely saturated with glue.

Another way to form a crown is with ornamental clay, which is sold in craft stores. It can make excellent branches and trunk. It also needs to be glued using PVA glue. It must become one with the base.

Making a crown

There are also two ways to form a crown. One of them is gluing with hot glue. Another method is to use putty. Which method you choose depends on what is available.

Coins should be glued according to a specific plan. Each coin must be in its place. The crown should have branches and shape. In order not to make a mistake with this, it is better to have a ready-made option before your eyes. If you use putty, you need to apply it carefully so as not to stain the base. To do this, you can use a palette knife.

When the crown formation work is completed, the product must be left to dry. In the case of hot melt adhesive this is not required. Before painting the work, all parts must adhere well to the base.

Product tinting

Metallic acrylic paint is suitable for tinting. Dark paint is first applied to the surface of the panel. It may be black or brown. The entire product is coated with paint. Then, using a sponge, you need to highlight individual convex areas. To do this, take a little gold or bronze paint and apply it to a sponge. Before painting, you need to make several impressions on another surface so that there is not too much paint on the sponge.

Next, carefully walk over the surface with a sponge. It is not necessary to paint over a continuous layer. It is necessary to highlight only some parts and place accents. After applying this type of paint, the panel will gain volume and sparkle with new colors.

Finally, acrylic varnish should be applied to the surface. It is best in this case to use varnish in a can. It does not have a strong odor and spreads well over the surface.

Registration of work

You should also take care of the frame for the panel. You can buy it in a store and simply glue it on top. This must be taken into account when choosing a base for a panel. The base size should be standard. The frame is selected to the desired size. In the case of a base that has a non-standard size, you will have to make the frame yourself. It can be made of wood or glued together from cardboard. In the future, it is decorated according to preferences.

You can attract wealth and prosperity into your life not only with the help of rituals. In everyday life, we are surrounded by seemingly ordinary things and objects that activate monetary energy and help us get rich. For example, according to the teachings of Feng Shui, an ordinary indoor fat plant - the money tree - provides invaluable help in this.

This modest plant, like a magnet, attracts wealth into the house. In addition to the Crassula, there are other indoor flowers that can attract cash flow, for example, cyclamen and arrowroot. They are united by common features, namely, round leaves resembling coins - a symbol of wealth and well-being.

According to Feng Shui, an artificial analogue can also become a strong activator of financial well-being. For this reason, you can choose a decorative money tree made from coins, stones, beads or other materials.

Which money tree is better according to Feng Shui?

When choosing a money talisman for your home, you should remember that a real tree is more effective than an artificial one. For a person who does not want to worry or waste time caring for a flower, a symbolic figurine of a tree is more suitable. Such a talisman will not dry out or die.

A real living money tree can wither and shed its leaves due to improper care. This sign indicates upcoming large expenses and a possible period of lack of money. Therefore, it is very important that the fat woman feels good. The best option is to acquire trees of both types - an indoor plant and an artificial analogue.

You can make an artificial money tree with your own hands or purchase it in a store or market. At the same time, you should remember that you cannot keep them in the same room - you should distribute money talismans to different rooms. You also need to keep in mind that a money tree made from coins, made independently, has stronger energy.

Sometimes the talisman is made in the form of a money tree made from large denomination bills. Such a product can be presented to the hero of the day or a close relative for his birthday. The gift symbolizes prosperity and success. Below you can find a master class on making a decorative money tree from coins, various materials and banknotes.

You just need to make sure that it is positioned correctly. But a living indoor tree requires special care. Its leaves should not become covered with dust, turn yellow or fall off. Otherwise, the preconditions for ruin will be created. This plant should not dry out, so as not to provoke huge waste of its owner.

At the bottom of the pot where the tree of wealth grows there should be five coins of the state in whose territory you currently live. This will ensure constant growth in your material well-being. You will have promising acquaintances, favorable circumstances and new sources of income. At Christmas, the coins must be removed and washed in running water.
